2005.01.27 • Fifth Annual Career Panel - Career Outlook 2005 • BGS San Francisco started the New Year with a career panel at the Mechanic's Institute. The speakers, Christy Consler and Professor John Krumboltz, introduced event attendees with various methods to take charge of their careers. The event was a great success as indicated by the high attendance rate with almost no empty seat left, and the enthusiastic feedbacks given by career panel attendees.

2004.12.11 • BGS Holiday Party at Magret's place • Beta Gamma Sigma members and friends attended the holiday party at Magret's place. In the event, we also gave the departing BGS Co-President, Jim Doyle, a BGS memorabilia as a token of gratitude for the leadership throughout the year.

2004.10.21 • BGS Annual Meeting - 2004 • New officers and leaders of BGS San Francisco chapter were elected. BGS members assembled to listen to many ways to get information on the Internet, as well as the effect of California propositions on local businesses.

2004.07.16 • City Mixer | Sunset Adventure on a 55-Foot Catamarin Sailboat • BGS members and guests assembled aboard a Catamarin Sailboat and sailed along the coast of San Francisco to celebrate summer in the Bay.

2004.05.20 • Building and Insuring Corporate Viability • BGS members and guests assembled at the UC Berkeley Faculty Club to participate in a panel discussion on managing corporate and financial risk and implementing risk management processes to ensure corporate viability. Keynote presentations were made by Dr. Campbell, Dean of the Haas Business School at Cal, Chairman of the World Affairs Council of Northern California, and a former US Congressman and former State Senator; Greg Zegarowski, President of Financial Leadership Corporation and a BGS member; and Bill Becker, founder of The Becker Risk Management Group (TBRMG).

2004.03.16 • South Bay Mixer | Winter Social in Downtown San Jose • BGS members and guests assembled at Sonoma Chicken Coop in downtown San Jose to share thoughts on industry trends and life in the Silicon Valley.

2004.01.15 • Fourth Annual Careers Program | New Approaches to Career Development in 2004 • BGS members and guests assembled at Santa Clara University to participate in a panel discussion on career development. Keynote presentations were made by Paul Kaihla, an award-winning business journalist and senior writer for Business 2.0 who covers national economic and security issues, especially those related to military and intelligence technologies; Frank Patchel, a highly innovative technology executive with more than 20 years of experience leading both startups and Fortune 500 companies to unprecedented growth, most recently CFO of Mediaplex in San Francisco where he was instrumental in managing a financial turnaround allowing its successful acquisition by LA-based ValueClick; and Kathy Potter, who has over 15 years in providing career counseling and development, outplacement, change management, and leadership consulting to academic institutions, corporations, small businesses, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and individuals.

2003.10.16 • Entrepreneurship in a Corporate Environment | Fall Meeting and Elections • BGS members and guests assembled at the University of San Francisco to participate in a panel discussion on building business leadership and success through with an entrepreneurial approach. Thian Hoo Tan, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at Komag delivered a keynote presentation. Jack Cassidy, associate professor of management at St. Mary's College moderated the panel discussion with panlists Bill Gervasi, who helped drive the development of international standards for computer memory technology with the JEDEC standards organization; Larry Louie, professor at the USF School of Business and Management; Eugene J. Muscat, senior Associate Dean at the USF School of Business and Management; George J. Slawek, Vice President and Sr. Consultant with Bank of America's Capital Markets-Finance Group; and Mary Stone, Vice President and Regional Sales Manager for Merrill Lynch.

2003.09.18 • East Bay Mixer | Fall Social in Emeryville • BGS members and guests assembled at Chevys in Emeryville to exchange thoughts on what California might be like with Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor.

2003.07.17 • South Bay Mixer | Summer Social in Sunnyvale • BGS members and guests assembled at Chevys in Silicon Valley to exchange perspectives on the dwindling economy.

2003.05.15 • Career Success Through Business Ethics • BGS members and guests assembled at the University of San Francisco to participate in a discussion on business ethics. Karl Boedecker, USF faculty member; J. W. (John) Borghese, Vice President & General Manager of Kaiser Aerospace and Electronics for Rockwell Collins Government Systems; Alev M. Efendioglu, Professor of Management and Information Systems at USF's School of Business and Management; David W. Gill, co-founder and co-director of the Institute for Business, Technology, and Ethics and President of the International Jacques Ellul Society; Lester A. Myers, attorney, certified public accountant, and philosopher who teaches business ethics, philosophy of law, and Catholic social thought in graduate and executive education programs at Georgetown University and the University of San Francisco; and Debbie Wick, Director of Sales for IBM's Distribution Industry Business, delivered an engaging panel discussion on ethics in corporate America.

2003.04.16 • Palo Alto Mixer | Post-Tax Day BGS Social • BGS members and guests assembled at the Nola Restaurant in Palo Alto to take a brief recess from the yearly tax-grind.

2003.02.19 • City Mixer | Founder's Day and 90th Anniversary Celebration • BGS members and guests assembled at Chevys in San Francisco to celebrate our 90th Anniversary.

2003.01.16 • Third Annual Careers Program | Taking Ownership of 2003 • BGS members and guests assembled at the Old Spaghetti Factory in Jack London Square. Career experts Dave Soss, Career Counselor with the University of San Francisco, and Duane James, Professional Coach with DuaneMotivates.com, delivered a presentation on career management.
